Plain English Summary
We believe in being upfront. Here's the gist: we build you a great website, you pay us for it, and you own what we create. If you choose a monthly plan, you're committing for 12 months. If you need to cancel early, we'll work something out, but there's a cost. The full details are below.
Services We Provide
Port Light Web, a dba of Level-K Games, LLC ("we," "our," or "us") provides web design and development services for small businesses. Our services include:
- Custom website design and development
- Website copywriting and content creation
- Search engine optimization (SEO)
- Website hosting and maintenance
- Ongoing website care and updates
Payment Options
We offer two ways to pay for our Starter package:
One-Time Payment
Pay the full amount upfront. For project-based work, we typically require 50% before we start and 50% upon completion, before the final site goes live.
Monthly Payment Plan
Pay $149 per month for 12 months. This option includes everything in the one-time payment, spread out to make it more manageable. By choosing this option, you agree to the following:
- 12-month minimum commitment: You agree to pay for 12 consecutive months
- Payment due date: Payment is due on the same date each month (the date of your first payment)
- Hosting included: Your website hosting is included for the duration of your agreement
- After 12 months: You own your website outright and can continue hosting with us or move elsewhere
Early Cancellation (Monthly Plans)
We understand that circumstances change. If you need to cancel your monthly plan before the 12-month term is complete, here's what happens:
- Cancellation fee: You owe the remaining balance of your 12-month commitment, or a flat cancellation fee of $400, whichever is less
- Your website: Once the cancellation fee is paid, your website files are yours. We'll provide everything you need to host it elsewhere
- Hosting ends: Your hosting with us will end 30 days after cancellation unless you make other arrangements
We're reasonable people. If you're facing genuine hardship, talk to us. We'd rather work something out than leave you in a tough spot.
Ongoing Care Plans
Our Ongoing Care plan ($99/month) is a month-to-month service with no long-term commitment. You can cancel anytime with 30 days notice. This plan includes:
- Website hosting
- Security updates and backups
- Small content updates (text changes, new photos, etc.)
- SEO monitoring and improvements
- Monthly traffic reports
- Priority support
What's not included: Major redesigns, new pages beyond the original scope, or significant new functionality. We'll quote these separately if needed.
Website Ownership
You own your website. Once you've paid in full (either upfront or after completing your 12-month plan), the design, code, content, and everything we created for you is yours. If you ever want to move to a different host or work with someone else, we'll help you transition. No hostage situations, no proprietary lock-in.
What We Need From You
To do our best work, we need your cooperation:
- Timely feedback on designs and content (within 5 business days is ideal)
- Access to any existing assets (logos, photos, brand materials)
- Honest communication about what you like and don't like
- Final approval before we launch
If feedback is delayed more than 30 days, we may need to pause the project and re-schedule. Significant delays may require a restart fee.
Revisions
Each package includes a set number of revision rounds:
- Starter: 2 rounds of revisions
- Professional: 3 rounds of revisions
- Custom: Unlimited revisions until you're happy
A "revision round" means a batch of changes you'd like us to make. Collect your feedback and send it together rather than piece by piece. Additional rounds beyond your package can be purchased if needed.
Limitation of Liability
We stand behind our work, but we need to be reasonable about liability. Our maximum liability is limited to the amount you've paid us. We're not responsible for lost profits, lost data, or indirect damages. We build great websites, but we can't guarantee specific business results like increased sales or Google rankings (though we certainly try our best).
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Changes won't affect existing agreements—if you're already working with us, the terms you agreed to still apply. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
